If you are a publisher or blogger and you are using adsense to make money from your blog or site and you find that certain ads displayed by adsense on your pages are irrelevant or from your competitors then this article may help you in filtering those ads. Google adsense has an excellent Competitive Ad Filter feature which makes it possible for you to block specific ads and that's with very ease. The competitive ad filter works by blocking ads that link to specific URLs .You can control range of ads to be blocked by entering a top level domain or a sub domain or a specific page.
 
You can filter ads separately for content, search and feeds. You need to put a display URL or destination URL in filters to block an ad. Now you know it all, so login to your adsense account go to adsense setup -> Competitive Ad Filter. You can get the help of examples there to fully understand the effect of adding a particular URL.
