IIT-JEE
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) conducts Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is the entrance examination for admission to the most premier technology institutes (IITs) of India. IIT-JEE is organized and conducted every year by Indian Institute of Technology for admission to B.Tech, B.Arch and other courses offered at the admission in IITs, ISM and IT BHU. It is considered as one of the toughest exams in the country.
IITs are located at Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jodhpur, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Mandi, Mumbai, Patna, Ropar and Roorkee. Students passed out of these institutes contribute to India and World through excellence in scientific and technical education and research and serve as a valuable resource for industry and society; and remain a source of pride for all Indians.
IIT JEE 2012 Eligibility Criteria:-
1. Date of birth : General (GE) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) category candidates must have been born on or after October 1, 1987. Those born earlier are not eligible to appear in IIT-JEE 2012. For SC, ST, and PD candidates must have been born on or after October 1, 1982.
2. To appear in IIT-JEE 2012, a candidate must have either passed the QE for the first time, on or after October 1, 2010 or appearing for the first time in 2012.
3. Minimum Percentage of Maks in QE(qualifying examinations): Candidates belonging to GE and OBC categories must secure at least 60% marks in aggregate in QE. SC, ST and PD candidates must secure at least 55% marks in aggregate in QE.
4. Number of JEE Attempts :A candidate can attempt JEE maximum two times in consecutive years irrespective of whether or not he/she passed QE.

The examination will be held on Sunday, April 8, 2012 as per the schedule given below:
Paper1 09.00 Hrs to 12.00 Hrs (IST)
Paper2 14.00 Hrs to 17.00 Hrs (IST)
IIT JEE 2012 Type of Examination/Questions :
There will be two question papers, each of three hours duration. Both the question papers will consist of three separate sections on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The questions will be of objective type, designed to test comprehension, reasoning and analytical ability of candidates.
