Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kerala

The Cochin University of Science and Technology came into being in 1971 in answer to a concerted campaign for quality postgraduate education in the state of Kerala. In February 1986, University of Cochin was reorganized into Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) with the objective "the promotion of graduate and post-graduate studies and advanced research in applied science, technology, industry, commerce, management and social science."

University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram

One of the first 16 Universities in India, the University of Kerala was founded as the University of Travancore in the erstwhile princely state of Travancore (now southern part of Kerala and some neighbouring parts of state of Tamilnadu) in 1937. Kannur University, Kerala

Kannur University established as ‘Malabar University’ in 1995 but formally inaugurated on March 2, 1996. The University was set up by the Act 22 of 1996 of the Kerala Assembly Act.

The University was established with an aim to introduce a centre of excellence in India in general and in the state of Kerala in Particular as a residential and affiliating university with up to date facilities.

Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala

The erstwhile GandhiJi University now known as Mahatma Gandhi University was established on 2nd of October 1983 is the fifth University in the southern most state of Kerala for providing higher education. The university has jurisdiction over Central Revenue districts namely Districts of Kottayam, Ernakulam and Idukki, Kozhencherry, Mallappally, Thiruvalla and Ranni Taluks of the Pathanamthitta District and Kuttanad Taluk of the Alapuzha. The Mahatma Gandhi University Kerala is the pioneer of self financing stream of education in the state, by starting the system in the year 1993.

Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit , Kalady ,Ernakulam

The University, named after the illustrious sage and philosopher Sree Sankaracharya, was established in the year1993 in Kalady, on the banks of the river Poorna in Kerala.

The primary objectives of the University are to impart knowledge in various branches of Sanskrit as well as Indology, Indian Culture, Indian Languages, Indian Philosophy, Fine Arts, Foreign Languages and Social Science and to promote the study and research of Sanskrit through simultaneous promotion of other languages in India and abroad that have enriched the study of Sanskrit.
