MMC cannot open the file SQL Server Enterprise Manager.MSC
Mon, 06/07/2010 - 09:48
All of sudden an error message is appearing while opening SQL server Enterprise Manager on one of my client machines having installed client tools for Microsoft SQL Server 2000.Message says
MMC cannot open the file C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL Server80ToolsBINNSQL Server Enterprise Manager.MSC.
This may be because the file does not exist, is not an MMC console , or was created by later version of MMC.This may also be because you do not have sufficient rights to the file.
This seems a corrupted or inaccessible Enterprise Manager problem. Is there any simpler way to resolve it than removing and reinstalling it.

Locate the file on the given path and rename it to anything like enterprise manager or entmanager or EM Now try opening it.If it opens then your problem is solved but still you wont be able to open it from Start->All Programs->Microsoft SQL Server->Enterprise Manager. So create a shortcut on your Desktop to the renamed file.If problem persists then remove and reinstall it.
